HDFC Mutual Fund is planning to launch a real estate mutual fund soon, a top company official said.
"We plan to launch our real estate mutual fund within the next few months," HDFC Mutual Fund's Managing Director, Milind Barwe, told reporters on the sidelines of a real estate conference.
Real estate mutual funds would be different from the conventional schemes and the money collected would be invested in real estate projects and mortgage-backed securities.
Valuation of the assets held by the fund would be done by a third-party valuer.
